Interview with Bryson Best

Bryson Best is the spirited third-grader also known as "The Kid Knows Sports"!

He is an active third grader who loves family, school, chess, and yes, sports. He recently became an author by publishing his first book ‘Touchdown Time,’ a children’s book for early readers that celebrates the importance of boys spending time with their dads and encourages us all to appreciate the little things in life like getting outside and have fun.

We reached out to Bryson to find out more about how and why he decided to go into Entrepreneurism and get some tips for all the other young, budding kidpreneurs out there:

1) Please introduce yourself.

Hi, my name is Bryson Best. I'm an eight year old kid author and I live in Charlotte, North Carolina. I wrote this amazing book called Touchdown Time. I'm also a kid YouTuber!

After I started to develop a few kits it kept growing. It kept growing really big, and there were a lot of people who wanted to buy my kit. So we had to stock up! Supply and demand!”

2) Tell us a little bit about The Kid Knows Sports?

The Kid Knows Sports is all about me talking about sports from a kids point of view. Um, so I talk about sports on my channel. It's one of my favorite things to do. Sports is one of my favorite passions. I love doing it since I was a little kid. I loved doing it since I was a three-year-old kid. I played flag football and I always used to run the wrong way to try to score a touchdown haha. Sports has been one of my favorite passions since I was like three and I love talking about sports.

It's one of the best thing in the world to me!

3) What first inspired you to start your business?

To me, what inspired me to start my business. It was actually COVID! When COVID hit, my parents wanted me to do something productive. So I agreed and I thought if I can make a COVID business. So I started selling coronavirus kits which included a mask, A Kid Knows Sports branded face mask, a hand sanitizer bottle also.

Also and a subscribe card. So people should know to subscribe to my YouTube channel. They can those words. And I love the family project. After I started to develop a few kits it kept growing. It kept growing really big, and there were a lot of people who wanted to buy my kit. So we had to stock up! Supply and demand! So pretty much that's what we were doing, and that's pretty much it on what we're doing. Uh, it was just an amazing opportunity to get to do this project.

Helping others is my superpower!

4) What are your 'superpowers' that inspired your business?

One of my superpowers is helping others. I've used profits from my business to give back to others. I have donated to baby bundles and also other nonprofits. Uh, I'm very passionate about helping the homeless. It's one of my favorite things to do. I have taken money out of my business just to help the homeless. That's one of my favorite things and it always will be, I will never stop helping the homeless. Uh, I took $250 out of my business and gave it to the homeless and I wanted to keep doing good things for the homeless.

So homelessness is my superpower and helping others is my superpower!

5) Tell us about your book ‘Touchdown Time’.

My new book is called Touchdown Time. It's a children’s book about me, my dad and my little brother, Brayden ,playing football in the backyard. And pretty much we love scoring touchdowns against my dad when we play football together. Also we have a touchdown time face mask that we launched during when COVID hit! So one of the masks said Touchdown Time. So, pretty much all just came together. That's why my book’s called Touchdown Time.

Also when I play flag football I love scoring touchdowns! YEAH TOUCHDOWN! SPIKE IT! YEAH!
