How to: Motivate your kids!
Along the way to your kid becoming an entrepreneurial success, there will be times where they are set back and challenged by obstacles.
These obstacles are only to be expected and can have the positive effect of building character in pushing your kids to achieve more and aim higher!
But, it is true that sometimes we all need that extra push to go the extra mile and pull ourselves out of the rut we get stuck in.
Say Timmy bakes four sheet pans of cookies and 4 out of 4 are burnt, it’ll be pretty hard to encourage him that the knack for baking will come with time.
So! What steps can we take to maintain the motivational drive in our kids as they follow their dreams to success?
1. Encourage them constantly!
Yes, Dorothy’s guitar skills may take a little while to kick in, but constant encouragement will make the learning journey a far easier one and is guaranteed to make all the difference!
2. Do not bribe!
Treating Sam to a new toy for a job well done is fair, but constant rewards for milestones won’t necessarily set up a good work ethic. Once the rewards stop, so might their motivation.
3. Set an example!
You are your kids’ key role model! So, inspire Timmy, Dorothy and Sam by doing what you love, proving how awesome it is to be passionate about something (ego how great following their dreams can be)!
