Alyssia’s Dream - Founder at 13 years old

Alyssia Duda is not only a ballerina, she is a dreamer and philanthropist. Alyssia’s Dream is a non-profit organisation, founded by Alyssia, providing young girls of colour with scholarships to dance ballet. As it is not always financially feasible for the families of these girls to pay for their dance education, Alyssia makes it possible through fundraising the costs so these girls can live out their dreams. Helping young girls of colour across America to dance and to dream, Alyssia is undoubtedly their fairy godmother.

Inspired by the efforts of this dancer/entrepreneur, Kebloom asked Alyssia a thing or two about her non-profit:


1) Please introduce yourself.

Hi, I’m Alyssia Duda. I’m 13 years old, and I live in Chicago, Illinois.

2) What is the name of your not-for-profit?

The name of my not-for-profit is Alyssia’s Dream.

3)   Tell us a little bit about your not-for-profit.

Alyssia’s Dream is a not-for-profit organisation, helping young girls of colour to pursue their dreams of becoming professional ballet dancers by providing ballet scholarships and much needed dance classes.

4) What passions inspired your not-for-profit?

The passions that inspired my not-for-profit are, my passion for ballet and passion to help young girls achieve their dreams.

5) What skills have you developed along the way?

A skill that I developed would definitely be becoming a stronger leader and entrepreneur.

6) What is your current goal?

My current goal for Alyssia’s Dream is to give ballet scholarships to 10 girls of colour.

7) What is your ultimate goal?

My ultimate goal for Alyssia’s Dream is to provide dance scholarships for young girls of colour globally.

8) What is your advice for other young entrepreneurs?

The advice that I would give to other young entrepreneurs, is to never let someone else stop you from doing something great.
