Interview with Mia Felber
Mia Felber is an enthusiastic young entrepreneur, promoting pet health and happiness through her products and business – Paleo Pets. She believes that pet wellness is on par with that of humans, so her products are 100% natural, benefitting animals without the negative side effects. Mia started her company at age 6 and has had great success ever since, branching out to create a variety of products for our furry
friends.
Excited by the future of Paleo Pets, Kebloom asked Mia a few questions on the founding and future direction of the business:
1) How would you best describe Paleo Pets?
I would describe Paleo Pets as being a 100% natural and safe pet care company that is trying to improve pet’s lives and health – nose to tail!
“When you feel like giving up, those are the times to push through and keep driving forward.”
2) How old were you when you founded your company?
I was 6 years old when I had the idea and made it happen.
3) What passions inspired Paleo Pets?
I love animals and I wanted to help make their lives better and healthier. When I first saw my mom’s products, she is business owner of Primal Life Organics, I asked her: “Mom, are your products good for pets?” She wasn’t sure if they were or were not. My mom’s business PLO was focused on helping people have healthier lives. That was when I thought to myself: “Hey I want pets to have healthier lives too!” and Paleo Pets was born.
“Sometimes it takes weeks even months to get your first order. You just have to hang in there.”
4) Who supports you with your business?
My dad, my mom, my brothers, my dogs Austy and Turbo and my cats Comet, Wookie, Coby and Harley!
5) What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs/inventors?
Sometimes it takes weeks even months to get your first order. You just have to hang in there. Especially when you feel like giving up, those are the times to push through and keep driving forward.
6) To what extent would a platform like Kebloom have helped you achieve your dreams?
Any platform that helps provide the insights and framework to help start and grow your business is amazing. Being home schooled, my dad and mom gave my siblings and I an education based in entrepreneurial thinking. Currently, we are learning from e-myth and Robert Kiyoski.
7) What has been the best part about running your business?
The best parts have been meeting people, learning and helping pets!
8) What has been the most challenging part?
Some days you get no orders and it can feel like nobody likes or wants your product. Those days can be really challenging to navigate, but you’ll get through them.
9) What skills do you feel you have developed since becoming a business owner?
One word: Photoshop. I use Photoshop every day and I love it! I feel it’s a skill I always had but hadn’t discovered.
…and anything else you’d like to add!
