Artelia ‘Tilly’ Shegog, otherwise known as Boss Baby Enterprises, is a 10-year-old creating waves in the entrepreneurial world. Tilly is a go-getting kid, forming a business team out of close family members. This strategic venture allowed her to turn what was once just an idea into a real life hair care enterprise. Stepping up for young African-American entrepreneurs everywhere, Tilly’s hair products are specially formulated and unique in their category. With her confident outlook and undeniable passion, we look forward to seeing what’s next for this young, driven entrepreneur.

Inspired by this passionate CEO and curious to find out more, we asked Tilly a few more questions about her journey:


1) How would you best describe Boss Baby Enterprises?

Boss Baby is an up and coming beauty brand that promotes "Beauty & Brains"!

2) What inspired your business idea?

My mother is my biggest inspiration! She has been an entrepreneur my whole life.

3) Who supported you in creating/building your business?

My whole family! My little brother Triston, who is 8 years old, is my Vice President. My mother is my COO (Chief Operating Officer) and my stepfather is my President of Sales & Operations. My stepbrother is my Creative Director and helps with my social media, and my stepsister heads up Research & Development. I think she's going to be the Next Kid Inventor!!

4) What advice would you give to aspiring young entrepreneurs?

Stay motivated!! Don't rely on others to realize your dreams, you must put in the work and prepare yourself. Words to live by...Preparation + Opportunity = Success!!

5) To what extent would a platform like Kebloom have helped you achieve your dreams?

Any kind of platform that helps me stay organized and put my plans into reality is a great tool!

6) What has been the best part about starting up a business?

Connecting with other kid entrepreneurs, and being able to express my creativity! 

7) What skills have you developed since being an entrepreneur?

Public speaking, sales, customer service, networking, and most importantly, making my own beauty products!!
